SeizLog Privacy Policy

1. Data We Collect

SeizLog stores the following data locally on your device only:

Seizure logs (date, time, duration, type, symptoms, notes)
Medication information (name, dose, schedule)
App settings and preferences (e.g., whether you have accepted this disclaimer)

We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All data remains exclusively on your device.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

No personal identifiers (name, email, phone number, or account information)
No location data
No contacts, camera, or microphone access
No HealthKit or Apple Health data
No advertising or marketing data
No biometric data

3. Automatic Network Requests

SeizLog makes limited, non-personal network requests at startup:

Version check: The app fetches a small JSON file from raw.githubusercontent.com/nass956/seizlog/main/version.json to determine if a mandatory update is available. This request contains no personal data — only the request itself is sent (standard HTTPS).
Over-the-Air (OTA) updates: The app uses Expo Updates (u.expo.dev) to deliver JavaScript bundle updates silently in the background. No personal data is associated with these requests beyond standard HTTPS metadata (IP address, timestamp).

Neither of these requests includes health data, seizure logs, or any identifiable information.

4. Third-Party Services

SeizLog uses the following third-party technologies:

Expo / React Native: App runtime framework. See Expo Privacy Policy.
SQLite (local): On-device database. No external access.

SeizLog does not use analytics, crash reporting services, advertising SDKs, or social media integrations.

5. Data Security

All data is stored locally in an SQLite database on your device, protected by the device's built-in security (iOS Secure Enclave, data encryption at rest). We do not have access to your data and cannot retrieve or restore it if your device is lost or reset.

6. Children's Privacy

SeizLog does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. Since all data is stored locally and we collect no personal information, the app can be used by caregivers to log seizure data for children under medical supervision.

7. Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

Access: You can view all your data directly within the app.
Deletion: You can delete any seizure or medication entry at any time. Uninstalling the app permanently removes all data.
Portability: Export features may be available in future versions.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of SeizLog after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
